The competition platform has been created and offered by MusicForMasters to
face the challenge that the pandemic has put on competitions, admissions , selections and procedures of the artistic world the past years.
The pandemic fuelled the necessary technological developments that we can benefit from today. In fact the traditional “face to face“ competition is no longer the only option.
In addition to
that this is a very “green” solution as students are not forced to travel by
train or airplane to their admissions, but they can simply take them at home.
Furthermore
students can take part in various admissions at the same time and are not
restricted by time.
Our project has been created by using a combination of Token and time slots technology, offering participants a very simple and user friendly platform. The platform guarantees the performance authenticity and doesn’t allow any modification to the videos.
The participants will only have the chance to record a video of their performance once, and this will not be modifiable in any way (sound, intonation, editing, use of filters, etc.).
This is made possible by the token, a numeric password generated by the system before every performance, and that the participant will have to say out loud or write on a piece of paper at the beginning of his video registration, certifying its authenticity.
The participants will also have to respect the time slots, fully customizable based on the competition’s needs. (The upload time is not considered in the time slot, which doesn’t penalise anyone based on connection speed).
Our platform can also be used on different devices. The system is designed to recreate the traditional “face to face” competition, in fact participants can only record their performance once. This guarantees the authenticity and quality of the videos for the examination board and also recreates the same work environment, the same psychological approach and the same emotional
tension that a live performance entails.
The jury also won’t have the need to download on their own devices the performances that they have to examine, because it will be directly visible on the platform in order to avoid any server overload or any other technical issues.
The platform also offers the possibility to use a payment system for the competition’s entry fees and can make each performance publicly available so that the audience can see it and rate it.
